It’s been an amazing journey so far full of giggles, dirty diapers, walks around the neighborhood, dishes, teething, and milestones. We can’t wait for Olivia to blast off into her toddler years!

Our Adoption Journey
On August 8, 2020, we decided to create our family through adoption. The rest of 2020 was spent taking CPR and adoption classes, getting physicals, meeting with our social worker, signing a million notaries, filming an “About Us” video for birth moms, and adopting Praline!
Then around 8’o clock Friday morning, January 22, 2021, we got the fateful call from American Adoptions saying we had been selected by a birth mom! We were shocked and overwhelmed with thankfulness that we had only waited a mere 52 days (average wait time is closer to 300 days). But the even more shocking news was that our birth mom’s baby was due any day!
It wasn’t until Monday, February 15, did Olivia make her grand entrance into this world.
Then on October 12, after a handful of social worker visits and more notaries, our adoption had been finalized.
Now as we approach her first birthday, we get to pause and really appreciate what an incredible journey this has been.
